Jesus died for your sins, something the Scripture have said in advance among other places in Isaiah 53:5-8 and 11-12
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
He was buried and stood up again one the third day as the Scripture had said in advance among other places in Mathew 20:18-19:
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
Do you want to receive Jesus? If you do, you get the right to become the child of God. That is: if you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and accept him as lord in your life.
If you are one the way to eternal perdition, I have good news for you. Jesus came to save you. Are you sick about the devil steeling from your life and to be a slave under sin? Jesus came to make you free. Jesus came to give you life. Hell is a place made for the devil and his angels. It is not made for you. A refrigerator is neither made for you to go into it, but it is possible. If you don’t accept Jesus, then you will end up in hell. God wants everyone to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of truth, therefore he sent Jesus. But he can't force you, because if you don’t come to heaven by your free will, you can't be there. Because nobody with rebellion or resistant can come to heaven. And no one with sin can come to heaven, and: all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; and it is impossible to self get rid of your sin.
Therefore God had to send some (who where perfect) to take your sin on him. The same way they lay sin on an animal in the Old Testament. God have done his part, now is the only thing missing, for your part: accept what he has done. Those in the Old Testament did also have to lay their hand on the animal so it could carry their sin. In the same way you have to lay your hand on Jesus and accept and believe that he carried your sin for you. Because if you reject him and don’t believe; you are cursed.
You need to be saved from eternal fire and perdition. It is no doubt about where you will end if you don’t repent yourself to God.
“out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth”
“a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries”
“hell fire”
“everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels”
“be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power”
Paul – a model for those who shall come to faith in God unto everlasting life.
In one side Paul was a picture of the religious one who never did anything wrong.
Phi 3:4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
He is a picture of those who are the ‘support beams’ in the society. A picture of those who have good moral and never disappoint peoples demand. A splendor specimen of a leader.
On the other side he is a picture of the outcast in the society. He made rebellion against God’s church and where the one who should be saved last of all. He persecuted and gave his support to murder of Christians. He represents those who don’t have a chance in life and are laying in the drain, but also the successful.
God shows with the salvation of Paul, first and most important, that God receive everyone who repents with the whole heart. God shows us that all need salvation and that everyone can be saved. God shows us true Paul that it is no one we need to give up on. The saying: “You are the last I thought should become saved” is very unknowing. The worst sinner can not be saved, he is saved.
1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Without regard to if you are self-righteous and have a clean record or you are the apparent worst sinner; you need Jesus. Jesus came to save those who where lost and now he is sitting on the right side of God and makes intercession for those who are saved.
Do you want to be one who Jesus came for, but was turned the back of? Or do you want to be one he prays for? Do you want to be like one of those who crucified him? Or do you want to be one who thanks God that he died for your sins?
When he is lord in your life, you will follow him. Here are something of what Jesus said to those who where going to follow him:
- And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. (Luk 14:27-33)
- And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. (Luk 9:57-62)
- He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Matt 10:37)
- And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (Mark 8:34-38)
